Note: I wrote this blog a few months ago before I had this Townhall blog; I'm posting it now so I don't have an empty blog page until I can write a new entry. It's cool anyway because you can see that my prediction that I made back in February became a reality. Thanks for reading!
Remember Y2K? Yes it seems like it was many years ago, but alas it was
a mere seven years ago. We all sat in our homes, fingers crossed, as
Dick Clark counted down the seconds before the year 2000 was upon us.
All of North America will lose power. Personal information lost.
Civilians will go insane causing destruction everywhere. The world will
end! The boorish outlooks went on and on. "Our lives are in the
computers, if they shut down because of the Y2K bug, we'll be in
serious trouble." B.S. It never happened. Even as I sat there on that
historical night, Welch's sparkling grape juice in hand, I knew what
everyone (especially the mainstream media) was saying was pure
delusion. Yes, what the Associated Press was able to use as the topic
of asinine stories for weeks on end, was a subject that my 7th grade
mind knew was absurdity.
So why the repeat scare of computer
malfunction causing major technological problems, this time due to the
Daylight Savings Time change? Simple: it's because the mainstream media
wants to scare you, play on your emotions, and get you concerned over
nothing. Why would the want to do that? This is just a small piece of
the puzzle and their main objective folks. The mainstream doesn't
report news, it reports nonsense that is used to get you worked up
- then they deliver the punch line, usually in a guarded and
unforthcoming manor. A punch line that will turn your smart, moral mind
into that of liberal sewage.
Prime example: Global Warming. The
media builds and builds the subject up through
the newspaper, news programs, talk shows, blogs, magazines, web sites,
and other forms of media, and makes it into this horrific tragedy
that's (supposedly) happening at an alarming rate - and you're to
blame. We are guilty of horrid sins like melting Iceland and drowning
cute little polar bears. The list of treacheries goes on and on. Now the
punch line in the form of a series of news headline stories making your
memory recall all of the garbage it had been fed previously -
"prominent
democrat Former Vice President Al Gore is breaking open the subject of
Global Warming, educating us on the dangers and how we can help fix
this environmental issue."
"Speaker of the House Nancy
Pelosi is working with other democrats to form a Committee of Energy
Independence and Global Warming to help protect Americas and the
world's environmental security."
"Hollywood star John
Travolta gave a speech on Global Warming today urging everyone to do
their part in the fight against global warming."
"President
Bush's see-no-evil, hear-no-evil stance on global warming is so
intractable that even when his own administration's scientists weigh in
on the issue, he simply won't hear of it."
"the
Republicans who are Global Warming deniers are on par with Holocaust
deniers. Though one denies the past and one denies the present."
You
see, now they've got you! If you're for Bush or anyone who agrees with
him, you're dumb, uneducated and evil. If you're a John Travolta fan,
you'll listen to him. If you care about the horrible things you're
doing like killing polar bears, you'll join our mission. Next thing you
know the DST change by Bush was all part of his "evil master plan" and
the only reason he did it is because he has profitable reason to do so,
etc.
So my point is, don't let the media scare you into
something that isn't 100% proven fact. As a matter of fact, disregard
all things put out by the liberal media and you should be okay. The
unforseen time change is not going to "mess everything up". With
technology being as amazing as it is these days, there will be no issue.
Besides
if the clocks don't automatically change for daylight savings time you
could always, gee I don't know, use your hand and you mouse and
manually fix it. Use your hand and your brain, I know, it's a crazy
idea right?
